Editorial policy

Who writes PixNutri content, how we choose and cite sources, how we use AI, how we handle expert review, and how to report a factual error.

By PixNutri Editorial Team · Last updated September 19, 2026

This policy covers the articles, guides and product pages on pixnutri.com.

Who writes our content

Content is written by the PixNutri Editorial Team, the people who build and run PixNutri. We write about nutrition tracking, how the app works and practical everyday eating. We are not doctors or registered dietitians, and our content is general information, not medical advice.

Expert review

At the moment, our content is not reviewed by a registered dietitian or other qualified health professional. When a qualified expert reviews a specific page, that page will show their name, credentials, a link to their profile and the date of the review. We will never show a reviewer who has not actually reviewed that page.

How we choose sources

  • We prefer primary scientific literature and official or institutional sources, such as USDA, EFSA, WHO, NHS and national health institutes. See nutrition sources.
  • Every nutrition or health claim on a page should be supported by a source listed in that page’s “Sources” section, and we only list sources the page actually uses.
  • We report study results as they were published, including results that are unfavourable to AI tools or to PixNutri.
  • Product pages describe features the app actually has, based on the current version of the app.

Testimonials and examples

We don’t publish invented customer stories or quotes as if they came from real users. Examples written by us are labelled as examples. Reviews and stories from real users will only appear with their permission.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help draft, edit and translate some content. A member of the team checks every page against its cited sources before it is published, and remains responsible for it. PixNutri’s in-app nutrition estimates are generated by AI, as explained in our methodology.

Comparisons with other apps

PixNutri is our product, so our comparison pages are not neutral. We base them only on information published by the other companies (their websites, help centres and app store listings), note the date we checked it, and correct them when that information changes.

Dates and updates

Every content page shows the date it was last updated. We update pages when the app changes, when a source changes or when we correct an error.

Corrections

If you find a factual error, email with the page address, what is wrong and, if possible, a source. Every content page also has a “Report it to our editorial team” link at the bottom. We review every report, fix confirmed errors and update the page’s “Last updated” date.
